Open for more than nineteen years, Zeus Gallery Cafe has served guests from its quaint out-of-the-way location behind the Virginia Museum of Arts, enticing diners from all areas of Richmond with its every-changing nightly menus that emphasize fresh seasonal ingredients and local produce. The restaurant recently expanded its space, and now boasts a larger dining area for more guests, including the addition of a lengthy booth that is ideal for larger groups. The open bar and kitchen create a lively setting, one where a hand-written chalkboard wine list features everything from a bottle of Dom Perignon to a glass of cabernet. The restaurant also showcases the works of local artists, which adds to the impressively designed hip space and matches the creative and inspired fare like grilled filet mignon, soft-shell crabs, and more, including a rotating selection of desserts such as brown butter rum bread pudding and the house's signature molten Belgian chocolate cake. It is food that left the Richmond Times-Dispatch writing: "Zeus Gallery Cafe transcends mere mortal restaurants by understanding the most supreme culinary power is that of restraint." Sunday Brunch is served from 10am to 1pm.
