Couple's Name:  David & Lynnsey
Why We Should Win:  My name is David Johnson and I am a firefighter/medic with Hanover Fire and EMS. Lynnsey and I have been together for three years and have just recently become engaged.

As cliché as it may sound, Lynnsey has made me a better person; she has allowed me to become the real me. She sticks with me even though my career involves long hours, extreme stress, and considerable risk, and gives me nothing but love and support when I come home after a long night at work that has worn me down physically and emotionally.

Since she was a little girl, Lynnsey has dreamt of a beautiful wedding that I want more than anything to give her, but I don't know if I can. With me working as a firefighter and Lynnsey just starting her career, everyday bills such as student loans, car payments, and rent make it hard enough to save an adequate amount of money for a decent wedding, but numerous recent health problems have set us back even more.

This wedding would change our lives. Lynnsey and I have been talking about getting married for years now and I know she wants a wedding, but it is not something that we can afford right now. We have had several conversations about what kind of wedding we could have and she recently told me that we could have a courthouse wedding and that it would not matter as long as she marries me. That is not what I want for her, for us. I want to give her, in one day, all the love and happiness she has given me in three years.

All I want this Christmas is to make Lynnsey happy, to give her what she deserves, and to finally call her my wife. I know there are probably an incalculable amount of people trying to win this wedding, but I had to at least try. Just know that if we win this wedding, it will make a huge difference in our lives and we will be forever grateful. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Couple's Name:  Fravere & Brandy
Why We Should Win:  Some people have fallen in love at first sight. For me, it was love at first write. On February 14 2015 (Valentine’s Day) my level of frustration increased after muddling through that day without a Valentine. I realized that I didn’t go out on many dates while working full time and pursuing a master’s degree full time. With that in mind I signed up for a popular online dating site. Only one guy caught my attention. His profile presented the kind of guy I felt I was looking for. He was a believer in Christ, a gentleman, and he was family oriented. I was a little nervous giving him my number but I took the plunge. He was different than I thought, he was better than I imagined. Our conversations were exciting and invigorating. We clicked immediately. We decided to go out on a date that weekend.

I realized that this man was meant for me because I was commuting every weekend from Lynchburg to Richmond to go out on a date with him. I did the commuting because he was still recovering from a traumatic brain injury that he received as a result of an assault by a patient at work. The severity of the injury prevented him from working and driving long distances. From mid-February until April I took a two hour trip one way to ensure that I would see this man. I was in love!
We are a positive influence on each other and we have helped each other overcome many obstacles. He struggled with lack of confidence after the injury. He has helped me to become more patient and self-aware. I truly understand how it feels to be part of a whole functioning unit now.

We started talking about marriage approximately six months into the relationship. However, we knew that, employment was our priority .In the mist of our struggle our bond grew. He began calling me his fiancée and I would quickly correct him because I had no official proposal and no ring.

Christmas day 2015 I was presented with a beautifully wrapped box that looked as if it could hold a necklace. I un-wrapped the present and opened the box to find a small ring box inside of the bigger box. He got down on one knee and asked me to share the rest of my life with him by accepting the ring and agreeing to become his wife. I shuttered with excitement hugged him and said “of course I will marry you.

As with any relationship we have had our struggles. Financial security and job stability have been the biggest struggle. We have really learned just how much love can bring us together. We have changed the wedding date and plans several times. We would need a miracle in order to plan the wedding of our dreams. I hope we can win this contest because the sooner we get married the sooner we can begin to write our happily ever after story which would be a testament to the power of true love and perseverance. It is my hope that others will use our story and see that with love, hope, faith and determination you can overcome any obstacles and make your dreams a reality.

Couple's Name:  Travis & Tracey
Why We Should Win:  Travis and I met at Applebees on October 9, 2009. Prior to meeting him that day, I’d had the worst day of my life. Travis was so sweet and genuine. He listened to me talk at length about my hard day. And from that night on, we began dating; enjoying dinners and seeing movies.

On his birthday, November 5, 2009 he asked me to be his girlfriend. Who knew that the next year, we would bring a beautiful baby girl into this world. We have been at each other’s side through thick and thin, good and bad.
We have been with each other when we only had $7 to our names, but we made it work. I don't know any one more worthy than my fiancé of a beautiful wedding. He does so much for the community on a day-to-day basis. He is a daycare director by day, coach for high school football, little league football and little league basketball by night -- and still has time for us. He is the most selfless person I know, and supports other children who do not always get the support they need from home. He deserves the best wedding money can buy!

On November 5, 2016, I hosted a 30th birthday party for Travis; however, he had a trick up his sleeve. He turned the party into a birthday/engagement party and asked me to be his wife in front of all of our family and friends. The night could not have been more perfect!

With the economy and our limited finances, it would take us about two years to actually afford a wedding, and I do not want to waste another minute being his fiancé. I am ready to be Mrs. Tracey Bell. Also, I would like for my mother to see us walk down the aisle. She is disabled and suffers from a lot of illnesses. It hurts her that she cannot help with the wedding. So, please consider us for this wonderful opportunity! I cannot think of anyone more deserving of winning this contest, than my fiancé. He’d agree; I’m not half bad either.
